LOW: Mk 8:14-21 (Tuesday Feb. 17, 2004)
Jesus must have really gotten frustrated with quite a few people. Of course top on the list were the Pharisees, who were the religious leaders at that time. And today we hear Jesus criticize his disciples saying they misunderstand His teachings just as much as the Pharisees.
I shudder to think what Jesus might have to say to us on certain occasions.
We do fail many times in our following of Jesus teachings, but this is not where things end. Jesus persists in His forgiveness of our failings and misunderstandings, and always, yes always, invites us to get back up, brush ourselves off and continue our journey into the full light of His teaching. Knowing we will fall again, but this is not the most important thing.
The most important thing is we get back up when Jesus offers us His all-forgiving Hand.
