Strandquist - LaVerle Budziszewski, 69, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
Services will be held at 10:30
a.m. today (Wednesday, May 30) at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian with
celebrants Rev. Joseph Menker, Rev. Donald Braukmann and Rev. August Gothman
officiating. Special music will be provided by Jeanne Novacek. Serving as
honorary bearers will be Maribeth Gonshorowski, Rebecca Weber, Beth Budziszewski,
Catherine Budziszewski, Susan Budziszewski, Mary Meyer and other family members
and friends. Active bearers will be Tim Budziszewski, Tom Budziszewski, Mike
Budziszewski, Bernard Gonshorowski, Mark Weber and Anthony Kostrzewski.
Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in Florian.
Visitation was held after 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, May 29, at Assumption Catholic Church. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to today's service. Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren is in charge of the arrangements.
LaVerle Elizabeth Stoltenberg was born on June 22, 1931 in Pipestone, the daughter of Leroy and Elizabeth (Blair) Stoltenberg. As a child, she moved with her parents to St. Paul where she completed her education and worked prior to her marriage to Stephen Budziszewski on October 25, 1952 at St. Columba Catholic Church. In March of 1953, the couple moved to Wright township in Marshall county where they farmed and raised their family. Stephen died on October 15, 1999.
LaVerle was a member of Assumption Catholic Church where she served on the parish council and as a past president of the Assumption Ladies.
She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, spending many hours with them reading, swimming, fishing and teaching them to cook, decorate cakes and plant vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed deer hunting with her husband and sons.
LaVerle is survived by two daughters, Maribeth (Bernard) Gonshorowski of Greenbush and Rebecca (Mark) Weber of Argyle; three sons, Tim (Catherine) Budziszewski of Argyle and Tom (Beth) Budziszewski and Mike (Susan) Budziszewski, both of Strandquist; four granddaughters; a sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
