John Theodore Gajeski was born on Jan. 21, 1936 in Wright Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of John and Daisy (Cieklinski) Gajeski. He attended country school. John was Baptized and Confirmed in the Catholic faith. He married Gertrude Landreville on Sept. 30, 1961 in Argyle, MN. They made their home on the family farm in Wright Township where he farmed. In later years, he worked out for various farmers. John lived his entire life on the family farm except for the last two years when he was a resident of Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston, MN.
He was a lifelong member of the Assumption Church of Florian.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and tending to his animals. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, collecting antiques and toy tractors.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Gertrude and five children; Joe (Patty) Gajeski of East Grand Forks, MN, Ray (Phyllis) Gajeski of Emerado, ND, Deborah Martinson (special friend - Bruce Berg) of Karlstad, MN, Denise (Tunde) Famodu of Richfield, MN and John Gajeski Jr. (special friend - Abby Terrell) of Thief River Falls, MN and six grandchildren; Andrew and Tyler Gajeski, Amber and Casey Gajeski, Paige Martinson and Yinka Famodu.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
