Peter Kostrzewski, 73

Florian - Peter Kostrzewski, 73, died Monday, May 29, 2000 at his home in rural Florian.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian with Rev. Raymond Palcisko officiating. Abi Kuznia will be the organist, and the soloist will be Bernadette Borowicz. Servers will be Jacob and Gabriel Rath. Casketbearers will be Larry Kostrzewski, Ken Kostrzewski, Peter Kostrzewski Jr., Randy Kostrzewski, Mike Ness nad John Wilebski. Honorary casketbearers will be Brandon Kostrzewski, Jennifer Forney, Tylor Forney, Ryan Ness, Joshua Ness, John Wilebski III, Benjamin Wilebski and Brandon Lee Kostrzewski. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in Florian.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, May 31) after 6 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Florian with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. The Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren is in charge of the arrangements.

Peter Timothy Kostrzewski was born on May 4, 1927 in Florian, the son of Martin and Rose (Kulpinski) Kostrzewski.

On May 24, 1958, he was united in marriage to Blanche Woinarowicz at the Red River Mission Church, rural Stephen. The couple made thier home in rural Florian where Peter farmed. He also worked road construction for 27 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He was a life-long member of Assumption Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Peter is survived by his wife, Blanche; four sons, Larry (Rosa) of Thief River Falls, Ken (Annette) of Viking, Peter Jr. of Florian and Randy (Kristie) of Thief River Falls; three daughters, Diane (Mike) Ness of Grand Forks, N.D., Rose Forney of Fargo, N.D. and Susan (John) Wilebski of Strathcona; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Edward and Edmund, both of Strandquist; Stanley of Argyle, and Raymond of Stephen; one sister, Gertrude Jorgenson of Argyle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Steve; and one sister, Cecelia. A00003B2000MY31
