Ludvig Blazejewski

Ludvig  BlazejewskiU.S. VeteranLudvig Blazejewski, 88, of Newfolden, MN, passed away on Friday evening, June 6, 2008 at MeritCare in Thief River Falls, MN.

Ludvig was born on Aug. 11, 1919 near Florian, MN, the son of Casimir and Margaret (Spinner) Blazejewski. He was raised in Wright Twp. where he attended Oak Ridge School. He served in the US Army during World War II from 1941 - 1945. After his discharge, he married Agnes Cecillia Filipiak at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. They made their home on a farm in Wright Twp. until moving in 1962 to a farm in rural Newfolden where Ludvig farmed and milked cows for many years. In 2006, he moved to the Karlstad Health Care Center.

He was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church and a member of the Newfolden American Legion. Ludvig loved to hunt, fish and play cards. He also enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren.

Ludvig is survived by five children, Leonard (Anita) Blazejewski of Newfolden, MN, Virjean (Leonard) Kasprowicz of Drayton, ND, Thomas (Wendy) Blazejewski of Newfolden, MN, Judy (Robert) Kasprowicz of Drayton, ND and Rita (John) Sens of Eden Prairie, MN, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Agnes, son-in-law, Mark Mattson, eight brothers, Felix, Leo, Peter, Edward, David, John, Florian and Casmir and four sisters, Mary, Helen, Evelyn and Pauline.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN. VISITATION: After 5 PM with a 7:30 PM prayer service on Monday June 9, Assumption Catholic Church in Florian and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. INTERMENT: Assumption Cemetery, Florian, MN MILITARY SERVICE: Newfolden American Legion
