Annual Meeting Time

This years Annual Meeting of the Lake of the Woods Steam and Gas Engine Association has been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, located on Rocky Point RD (County RD 17) 6 miles North of Roosevelt.

As usual, there is much business to discuss in preparation for this years show, election of directors, along with good fellowship with old and new friends, and of course some refreshments.

Bring along any of your friends who may be interested in exhibiting, playing with or just looking at any of the old Tractors, Cars, Engines, Farm Equipment, and other old stuff that was used many years ago by our ancestors on the farm, home and etc. Call Troy Comstock at 424-7455 or Steve LaDuke at 386-1302 for more information about our association.

I am sorry to have to report the passing of two members of our association. John Grove passed away on April 22. He was one of the founders and charter members of our show. Paul Hassa left us on May 10. Paul and his son, Lauren, would generally stop and do the “whistle signals” for us from the Minneapolis steam traction engine during the parade each day of the show. They will surely be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know them. We extend our sympathy and condolences to their families and friends.
