Work Days on Grounds Coming Up

On Sunday, April 27, several of the directors and members met at the Show Grounds for a Director’s Meeting and to walk around the grounds to help determine what need to be done to get ready for this year’s show. Some of the items are:

We need to run new underground power line to the Blacksmith shop, as there is a problem with the existing line.

Flashing has to be added to the new porch roof on the Pioneer Home where it is fastened to the wall. Snow and rain can now blow in between the roof and wall. We also need to build a handicap ramp access to the porch.

We are planning on moving the School House onto a new foundation along side the Pioneer Home. Many hands will be needed for this. Also the school house needs to be re-shingled, which entails cutting some more shingles for the job.

This is just a sampling of the work that needs to be done on the grounds. There is always clean-up and general maintenance to be done each year.

Some of the scheduled work days:

June 7 – 8; 21 – 22; 28 – 29;

July 12 – 13; 19 – 20; 25 – 26;

And all of the week before the show.

You are not limited to working just on the week-ends. If you are available during the week, call Troy, Steve or Phil for a list of things that need to be done. We can use all the help that we can get. Bring a friend to help, if you would like.

Call Troy Comstock at 424-7455 or Steve LaDuke at 386-1302 or Phil Harder at 386-2894 for more information about work days or information about our association and our show.

When show time comes, bring along any of your family or friends who may be interested in exhibiting, playing with or just looking at any of the Old Tractors, Cars, Engines, Farm Equipment, and other Old Stuff that was used many years ago by our ancestors on the farm, in the home and etc.
