Bedding Plants
Spruce Up nursery is located 2 miles East of Warren, MN and 1 mile North on marshall County Road 34. We are open for business the weekend before Mother's Day and set up a small retail house in the parking lot in Warren on Johnson Avenue and First Street. You are always welcome to come out to the farm to browse, buy or just look. We are just a small Mom and Pop operation, so may be in the house at odd hours to catch a bite to eat. Feel free to knock on our door if no-one is in the greenhouse area. We don't produce enough plants to sell them on the world wide web, but I would like to list some of the plants we grow and a few pictures. Just in case you're traveling through Warren Minnesota, maybe you'll get the urge to look us up. We start planting seeds in January. Some perennials, pansies, geraniums and begonias and even dracaena spikes are started at that time. As soon as the Fuchsia plants start growing we are doing cuttings. We also do Geraniums and Garden Mums from cuttings. By March 1st we are planting about 20 flats of seeds every week. We have a small 48-foot house which is heated all winter. When it is jam packed so we are tiptoing down the aisles we fire up the heaters in the big house. It's 30' x 96' We do hanging baskets and planters for Mother's Day. Also start a wide variety of vegetable plants, including several heirloom and open pollinated varieties. The following links go to specific plant groups and more snapshots.
