Our McAvity Lake home is designed for easy living, it has easy access features and is designed for one level living.  Nestled among the red oaks and colorful maples, it features a great view of the northern arm of McAvity Lake.

The outstanding feature of this home is the combined kitchen, dining and living room area, a Great Room from which the lake can be seen at any point.  The unique woodwork in this room, the vertical planking covering the alcove beam, the fireplace mantle and vertical planking above the mantle are sawn from an oak tree removed from the spot the house is built on.

Similar to the oak woodwork, the ash boards around the stairway are rough sawn ash, touch sanded to leave the saw marks for contrast.   This finish method gives contrasting colors unique to this home.

The home is designed for living comfort.  The master suite with full bath and walk-in closet is on the lakeside and features a patio door opening onto the deck.   The second bedroom is just a couple of steps away from the community bath and the utility room is on the main level for single level living.

Electric in-floor heat is featured in the basement and garage, the electric boiler also heats a coil in the Lifebreath integrated air handler to heat the upstairs.  The propane fireplace is a stand alone heat source, it is designed to operate without power and during construction proved it could keep the whole house at a livable temperature. .

The bathrooms and utility hallway feature ceramic tile, and the walking areas in the bathrooms have electric heat in the floors.  The Great Room area features a laminate oak floor for beauty and durability.

The basement is constructed using Insulated Concrete Forms which makes it very easy to heat and finish.  It is designed to be a very comfortable place for the kids or grandkids to sleep and play.  It is framed for a recreation room, office, bedrooms or a workshop, all easy to heat or cool and each room except the mechanical room is provided with an egress window.
