St. John Lutheran Church and School
For more than a century, Christians have gathered together at St. John's for Divine Service, sharing the the gifts and blessings of the Triune God. Foremost among these, God grants forgiveness and life through Christ Jesus. These He has purchased and won through His suffering and death on the cross.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
Without Jesus Christ, we would face the wages of sin, guilty and condemned, unable to save ourselves from the horrors of eternity in hell. Through Christ's holy sacrifice, however, God extends mercy to all who believe. For His sake, we are declared righteous, holy, and blameless. Through Him we have forgiveness, life, and salvation.
These gifts and blessings Christ purchased with His own lifeblood, and He offers them freely to all. God invites everyone to the wedding feast of His Son. All has been prepared in advance. We need only come, trusting in His mercy.
One of the missions for outreach into the community is the Christian school sponsored by the church. Currently the enrollment only includes children ranging from preschool up to sixth grade. However, in prior years enrollment has gone all the way up through high school, and will do so again when sufficient interest permits.
Classes integrate Christ into the curriculum, teaching children not only about the world, in which we live, but also about the Word, Who became flesh and dwelt among us. From Him and through Him come all true wisdom and understanding.
For in Him we live, move, and have our being. Acts of the Apostles 17:28a.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7.
