“WILL YOU SEEK GOD WITH ME?” PILGRIMS OF I PETER 1:3-12
There is a marvelous seeking that takes place in the life of a child of God. Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him The “fool” of Psalm 14:1 never seeks and thus never finds. The things of this world that our flesh lusts after causes us to ever seek and never find. But for a pilgrim who seeks his God, he will be “ever seeking and ever finding” (Matthew 7:7-8). Will you seek God with me? It starts with conversion. God’s will is that this is just the start. Such a pilgrimage and such a journey! “Times of soaring and running” “Years of walking and not fainting” (Isaiah 40:31). “New songs” always being written to sing of deliverance and salvation. “Sing to the Lord a new song” (Isaiah 42:10). This is not possible if we are not seeking. In I Peter 1:13-16 we can see that there are all kinds of things that we are to be stopping. But this is done all the while we are seeking, walking, waiting, hoping, trusting, serving, singing, and speaking. HOW DO YOU SEE YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER? DO YOU KNOW? WHO IS THIS ONE WHO SAID THAT HE WAS THE SON OF GOD? DO YOU KNOW? WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD? HOW CAN WE WALK IN THE SPIRIT AND BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT IF WE DO NOT KNOW?
Read carefully I Peter 1:17-25. I. We study Him and His Word while we seek Him. II. We fellowship with Him and His Word while we walk with Him. The question is, do we? Will you seek God with me? If you do you will first find Him as personal Savior; from then on we will be ever seeking and ever finding.
